Free Ride: Tanner Wilkins picked up some smaller pieces of our Conveyor Belting to build a calf carrier. He plans to cut openings for the calf’s legs and attach the belting to a metal frame that can be pulled behind a four-wheeler. The calf stays safely supported while helping lure momma back where she needs to be. As Tanner put it, “They get a free ride!”

BEFORE: These heavy-duty Treated Wood Guardrail Timbers once served alongside highways, supporting guardrail systems and helping keep motorists safe.
AFTER: Now they’re being “repurposed” into sturdy retaining walls, giving these timbers a completely new purpose long after their days along the highway are over.

Customer Project: A Wisconsin upholstery shop found a creative new use for our Plastic Bins w/ Dividers. They removed the original dividers, added their own wooden inserts, then used upholstery fabric to cover the inserts and line the bins. The finished bins now serve as displays for their fabric selection, and the setup worked so well, they recently came back for even more!

Storage Solution: A customer picked up a bunch of our Slatwall Panels to help tackle the clutter in his garage. By mounting the panels along the walls, he was able to create organized storage for tools, equipment and all the odds and ends that tend to pile up, while keeping everything visible, accessible and off the floor. Tom, glad we could help!

Garage Upgrade: A customer picked up some of our Plexiglass Sheets and decided to try something a little different in his garage. He installed the sheets along the ceiling and added LED lighting, creating a pretty impressive finished look. Backyard Build: “I weld and woodwork with ‘repurposed’ material I salvage since new material has become so expensive and increasingly hard to come by. I built two outdoor kitchens at our home for my wife and also at my daughters from Pallet Racking and other ‘repurposed’ materials. It worked very well and is a durable material that will hold up for years to come.” – Brian in Colorado

Property: Materials aren’t the only things that can get “repurposed”. Plenty of examples in real estate, too. An old rock quarry becoming a famous concert venue in Sweden, a grain elevator becoming an art museum in South Africa, or abandoned salt mines being turned into document and artifact storage facilities right here in the USA. Well, this property inside the Texas Triangle that got sent to me is in need of a little “repurposing” for sure!
Q: Any ideas for how this could be “repurposed”? Email Ideas!
FYI: This property is for sale at $1M under appraised value. If you’re interested in more information, we’ll send you the real estate listing. Email Us for Details!

Budget Win: A small-town recycling company recently picked up our Vented Nest & Stack Bins to use for weekly residential recycling pickups. Instead of spending taxpayer dollars on brand-new bins, they found a more affordable option with us that gets the job done while keeping costs down for the community. Saving materials AND taxpayer dollars is a “repurpose” we can get behind!

“repurposed”HISTORY: We love all things “repurposing” including machinery and equipment that was “repurposed” for uses beyond the familiar usage or application.
Q: Like the Hemi example below, do you have another example of a piece of equipment/machinery being “repurposed”? Email Examples!
|
|
|
|
|
Hemi Engine: In the Cold War, the famous Chrysler Hemi motor powered more than the Challenger and the Barracuda muscle cars. It also powered air raid sirens. It remains the loudest air siren ever produced.
Our favorite line in the Autoweek article: “Like so many engineering milestones, the siren’s genesis was a product of war-time urgency.” War forces nations to be resourceful!
