substitutionMENTALITY:  As "repurposers", we're always looking at what used material could be substituted for a new, purpose built product.  Here is an example of "substitutionary thinking".  This ad in Stormwater magazine shows storm water storage module product available.  These are basically plastic modules that you put together to support a cistern-like retention pond underground.  On top of these modules you can then place sod, a parking lot, or whatever.  Interestingly, though, looking at the modules they very much resemble plastic pallets.

Q: So, our substitutionary mentality simply asks, couldn't plastic pallets be "repurposed" as stormwater storage modules?  OK, all you engineering-types who read this newsletter, is there any reason pallets can't be substituted in place of purpose-built stormwater storage modules?

cool "repurpose": "I saw these streetlight luminaires used as part of office cubicles on the showroom floor of the Ford dealer in Hays, KS.  I thought you guys would like this 'repurpose'." - Ray

Streetlight Luminaires.  These are unused, still-in-the-box.

BEFORE:  This tubing came from a laparoscopic surgery instrument manufacturer.  They changed the specs on their tubing, so this inventory became obsolete.  As you can imagine, this tubing is super high quality!

repurposedPROJECT:  "Folks, As an Architect, I am always looking for innovative uses for 'repurposed' materials.  Some time ago, I purchased some of your stainless steel tubing for use in my own home remodel.  We wanted to repeat the motif on the doors by placing the rods horizontally in 1/4" recesses. I keep a regular watch of your website for other interesting items.  When are you going to open a West Coast office?"

Grain Silos.  "I saw this article and thought of you guys.  An Iowa company 'repurposed' an 8-story old grain silo into an ice climbing structure!" - Bill Alexander in Minnesota

Q: Do you have a property for sale that would be a good candidate for "repurposing"?
