In this Edition… Denver | Chicago | Atlanta | Dallas | Philadelphia

Salmon "in"...BEFORE: This is the steel cable strung between divided highways to keep cars from crossing into oncoming traffic.  This cable is periodically replaced for safety reasons.

Possible AFTER:  "Your used highway cable is of interest to use as weight or ballast on the bottoms of our netting on our salmon farm set-ups.  We need weight to keep the nets fully expanded.  Used cable works just as well as new at a fraction of the cost!!." Peter Riggins in
British Columbia

3/4" Galvanized Highway Median Cable.  We just got in 35,000'+ of highway cable.  L: Dallas, Philadelphia  Click for Pricing>>

Q: Like with the DOT's, do you have materials or product that you periodically replace that would be a candidate for "repurposing"?? If yes, send details.  Call Damon at 303.321.1471 or Email Damon>>

Salmon Farming "out"...275 gal Totes.  We just got in 3 truckloads of 275 gal totes that had salmon oil in them previously.  L: Chicago  Click Here for Pricing>>

Truckload Quantity:  If you want to purchase a truckload quantity of used totes, call Ethan @ 303.321.1471 or Email Ethan>>

Stainless Steel Tubing.  3/16" stainless tubing.  This is unused, surplus inventory.  L: Denver   Click Here for Pricing>>

BEFORE This tubing came from a laparoscopic surgical instrument manufacturer.  They changed the specs on their tubing, so this inventory became obsolete.  As you can imagine, this tubing is super high quality!

POSSIBLE AFTER:  "We use stainless steel tubing to make needles for injecting water proofing resins to stop water leaks in sewer manholes, culverts and behind sea walls and structures to fill voids and strengthen soils.  We need the wall thickness so they do not bend when we push them into the dirt.  With the storm damage we expect a lot of sea wall repairs." - Michael in Georgia  RE: Michael, we have 12" sample of the tubing on it's way!!!

Good, Bad Day.  Good Day "We manufacture UHPC (Ultra High Performance Concrete) panels. We have a large overstock of panels (4x10' @7-8lbs / sq. ft.).  The material is free for the taking." - Dena  RE: Dena, can you send pics?

Bad Day:  "We landfilled a bunch of the concrete panels.  With the elevated need for workers, we cannot spare people to stack panels and prepare them for shipping.  I pushed for us to get them in shipping condition but I didn't receive management support." Dena  RE: Dena, Wow, that's sad, but unfortunately a common story.  Lots of management teams give lip service to Zero Waste but then they do little, or nothing in your case, to support the mission.

QLike Dena, do you have surplus product or materials that you want to see kept out of the landfill?  Send Details.  Call Damon @ 303.321.1471 or Email Damon>>

New Rule.  "One of the blacksmith's credos is that if a piece of metal is still big enough that it could be cut into two pieces, then it is still too big to throw away.  So a blacksmith will gather railroad spikes, car axles, old plowshares, worn out ball bearings and shafts, gears, steel cables, and broken tools, to use as raw materials for new things." Bruce Schacht in Oregon

RE: Bruce, Frankly, that should be a new rule for all waste in America.  If you can cut it into two pieces, then you can't throw it away!

"Tables in shop areas such as welding tables! The base is big enough to support the weight and height can be adjusted to the project your working on! Would love to have four of them for my own garage! Lots of times there is not always a lot of room, but with the pinned legs you can disassemble when not needed and you can make the top as big or little as you need!" - George McNeley
