"It is quite common to add ground tennis shoes to the material in an equine performance ring (like sand). It holds moisture and provides shock absorption. A professional horse facility should have an interest. It would need to be ground into small pieces before being added to the arena sand." - Greg Smith

"Years ago I looked high and low for a piece of this rubber to make a practice drum pad.  Mounted a 5 in x 5 in piece recessed in an inclined piece of wood, to practice drum rolls, etc.  Couldn't afford drums." - Greg Rubin
insiderVIEW.   BEFORE: We got offered the granite blocks below.  We did our due diligence, and here are a few of the responses on the granite blocks from people in the stone industry.  Industry insiders said landfill them.  Nevertheless, we said "yes" to accepting the blocks.  AFTER:  We're happy to report that we have found a home for the 40,000 lbs of granite.  This is 40,000 lbs the stone industry suggested should be landfilled, but we thought we could find a home for the blocks.  And, we did!!!

"It is not worth spending money hauling and handing hollowed granite used as sample for drilling.  You should have disposed of them at a landfill." - Mani

"I fear it will be hard to find them a home." - Ron

"Salisbury pink granite...junk." - Mark

Q: Do you have waste or byproducts that you'd like to keep out of landfill?  Like with the granite blocks, we might be able to help!!!  Email Us Details>>

low/costOPERATOR.  We love to profile resourceful, low cost operators no matter the industry.  These savvy operators are always finding ways to get the same job accomplished at a fraction of the cost.

"repurpose" #1:  "We use old re-bar to replace wear strips on our excavator buckets. You can buy factory wear parts but very expensive...used re-bar is FREE.  Begins to add up when you have 16 or so buckets." - Mick, demolition contraction in Arizona

"repurpose" #2:  "Your old conveyor belt has worked superbly lining the bottoms of our articulated dump truck beds.  Using a cheap used material as a wear part on an expensive piece of equipment makes a lot of sense to me!  Oh, and the rubber is a great sound dampener, too!" - Bill Andrews, dirt contractor in Ohio  Conveyor Belting.  L: Den, Atl, Phi, DFW, Chi   Click Here for Pricing>>

Non-Profit (501c3) Inquiry.  "Hi Damon, I have been following you almost since inception. Your business model is fascinating.  Our non-profit has been offered a property as a donation. The property was the former location of an ice plant so there are environmental concerns related to the elements used in that process. The property is an acre in size. It is currently on the market for $175K/acre. We don't have interest in the property for our own activities, but we would be willing to flip the property to help fund our activities. The thought that you might be interested in looking at a distressed property like this is intriguing to us. The donor would not be interested in dealing directly with you as they would lose the tax advantage of a donation. But we could be the filling in the Oreo and effectively move the property from them to you with a quick intermediary role for us." - Ann  RE: Ann, we are absolutely interested!

NOTE:  Ann's inquiry is not unique to us.  We have done multiple deals with non-profits over the years who get inventory, land, product, equipment, etc...given to them that they can't use internally.  Funny, one early deal we did was for 7 pallets of electrical tape that was donated to a thrift store.  Q: Are you affiliated with a non-profit that could benefit from our services as a funding source?  If yes, please forward our information &/or contact us for more information on how we might could help!  Contact Us>>
International Inquiry.  "i wish to know where you find your street sweeper brushes, I'm looking for one in Italy but no one sells them.  Here it's a requested item but no one knows where to find it.  I want it because it can be used as a self brush for animals. Regarding me I have 3 horses and they keep scratching on plants with it probably they'll not destroy them." - Stefano Buzzi

Thought:  Emails like Stefano's continue to make us think about international expansion!
Q: Anyone interested in helping us take our concept to Europe or wherever?  Contact Us>>

Demolition Possibility.  "Dear Damon, Hopefully, we will be demolishing a 7 story hotel, constructed by the Ramada Inn back in the mid-1970s.  Do you think there may be any value in those materials?" Marty RE: Marty, we may be able to help.  We'll call you!

Q:  Do you have an upcoming demolition project where you'd like to save some $$$ or increase your landfill diversion %?    Email Demo Details>>

* A.C.E.  This acronym stands for AttributesCharacteristicsEngineering.  We use this acronym to tell you a little about a used material and what qualities it has in hopes that someone can find a "repurpose" for it.  Asked another way...what did the material do in it's 1st life that might help identify a very different, 2nd life for it?
