Ski Town Bridge.  This is 150' x 11' pedestrian bridge removed last week in Summit County, CO.  The bridge was cut into 3 sections for transport.  They will need to be welded back together to make a complete bridge.  The bridge has some age on it...rust, needs new decking, etc.  L: Denver  Email Us for more Pics and Pricing>>

Shipping Container Bridge.  "We needed a bridge on our vacation property.  My wife came up with the idea of a cargo container.  No underlayment or anything needed; simply a 50 ton crane to swing it into place.  Budget: $2500 delivered and only another $800 for the rear door installed & $600 for the crane. All in all a real bargain!" Bob Burchett in California.  RE: Bob, we love nothing more than a smart "poor man's" solution.  Brilliant!!

Railroad Rail:  We just got in a bunch of new, surplus rail.  A lot of shorter lengths ideal for footrests, for anvils, etc.  Click Here for Lengths and Pricing>>

Q:  Besides anvils and foot rests, any other "repurpose" ideas for rail that is 1'-8' in length?  Email Ideas>>

readerSUGGESTION:  "My grandfather, Edward Runnakko, 'repurposed' rail from the mines on the Iron Range in Hibbing, Minnesota as the main support beam in his basement where his family lived while he was building the rest of the house in Chisholm, MN in the 1950’s. It is still standing today." Craig Runnakko

repurposedINBOX:  "We have come across between 1500 to 2000 metres of railway in some old outbuildings in Scotland and wondered if your company would be interested in buying some/all of them? It has been in these buildings for around 100 years." - Scott

Q:  Like Scott, do have stuff in your warehouses that you'd like gone??  Get us details!  Call Damon at 303.478.6193 or Email Damon>>

Money Saving Tips:  "New skid-steer loaders typically come with tires that do not last more than 100 hours  Take the new factory tires off and replace them with new heavy-duty tires.  You can get 500 or more hours on a set of tires.  Then when you sell the skid loaders four to five years later, put the original new tires on the machine and sell it with new tires.  New tires help sell any used equipment." - Rich Frederico

Q:  Like Rich and the skidsteer tires, do have money saving tip that you'd be willing to share??  Email Damon>>

Stainless Steel Tubing.  3/16" stainless tubing.  This is unused, surplus inventory.  L: Denver   Click Here for Pricing>>

BEFORE This tubing came from a laparoscopic surgical instrument manufacturer.  They changed the specs on their tubing, so this inventory became obsolete.  As you can imagine, this tubing is super high quality!

POSSIBLE AFTER:  "We use stainless steel tubing to make needles for injecting water proofing resins to stop water leaks in sewer manholes, culverts and behind sea walls and structures to fill voids and strengthen soils.  We need the wall thickness so they do not bend when we push them into the dirt.  With the storm damage we expect a lot of sea wall repairs." - Michael in Georgia  RE: Michael, we have 12" sample of the tubing on it's way!!!

Salmon "in"...BEFORE: This is the steel cable strung between divided highways to keep cars from crossing into oncoming traffic.  This cable is periodically replaced for safety reasons.

Possible AFTER:  "Your used highway cable is of interest to use as weight or ballast on the bottoms of our netting on our salmon farm set-ups.  We need weight to keep the nets fully expanded.  Used cable works just as well as new at a fraction of the cost!!." Peter Riggins in
British Columbia

3/4" Galvanized Highway Median Cable.  We just got in 35,000'+ of highway cable.  L: Dallas, Philadelphia  Click for Pricing>>

repurposedINBOX"I'm an architecture student at the University of Maryland.  I enjoy reading the newsletters and would like to better understand the materials being 'repurposed'.  I'm writing to ask if you have any tips on relevant educational resources. Are there certain trade publications that you recommend? How does one even begin to gain this type of expertise?" - Yuki

RE"Yuki, Thanks for writing.  Honestly, there really isn't a centralized source for education for "repurposing".  While it is very agriculture-related, Farm Showmagazine is one of my favorites.  Hope that helps a little bit!" Damon
