Used Climbing Rope.  Finally, we’ve got more climbing rope in.  These retired ropes primarily come out of climbing gyms so they haven’t rec’d much, if any, exposure to the outdoors.  WARNING: These ropes are NOT to be re-used for any life supporting purposes!  Order Online>>

repurposedIDEA:  "When I buy me a loft, I'm going to buy a bunch of your climbing rope and weave this too cool hammack between the 1st story and 2nd story." Allie Hernandez

Rolls of Rubber.  1/8" x 56" x 200'   (NOTE: The blue fabric is protective layers between the black rubber.)  L: Denver  Roll Pricing>>

BEFORE: These rolls of rubber were involved in a truck accident on the way to a factory where they were going to be die cut into diaphragms for truck air brakes.  The customer rejected the whole load.  Really!?!  How bad can you hurt rolls of rubber?  AFTER: A Oklahoma bison rancher purchased 4 rolls yesterday.  He purchased a bunch of rolls last fall, too.  So, it must work!   He uses the rubber as a visual barrier in his corrals.  NOTE: The two pictures on the right with the solid fencing.  Not being able to see through the fence helps with animals staying calm during roundups.  Charles, we appreciate your business!  BEFORE/AFTER: From truck accident waste to a 2nd life on a bison ranch.  That is what we do everyday here at repurposedMATERIALS.

Rolls of 100% Polyester.  BEFORE: "Hello, We have about 10 pallets of new 100% polyester, non-woven fabric.  It was part of an window blind R&D project that we  did not proceed with.  But they had to purchase a container load at the time.  Each are 37.5" wide with about 500 yards on them.  It is Unitika brand, 35 grams/sq meter.  Are these something you would be interested in?" Dianne  AFTER:  Dianne accepted our offer.  We now have the fabric for sale.  L: Denver  Click for Pricing>>

repurposedHOPE:  "My 'repurposing', I do dye sublimation printing.  A key element in the process is the polyester based coatings, or, in the case of fabrics, simply being made of polyester.  When polyester fabric is imprinted the image is actually dyed INTO the cloth rather than being applied to the surface as is the case with screen printing, vinyl, etc.  I am hoping that the texture of the polyester material will be suitable for printing photographs." Gordon

SURPLUS...Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Tanks.  "We have 4 very large, unused FRP tanks that have been stuck in our yard for 8 years tied up in foreign bankruptcy.  These tanks ranging in size from 150,000-750,000 gallons are now available at a deep discount.  We just want them off our lot.  These are so large they can't be moved on the highways.  So, they'll have to go on some waterfront property with barge or ship access.  These four tanks cost $3,000,000 new." - Sam

AVAILABLE:  If you're a mine, an oil & gas operator, or a petrochemical company and you have serious interest

Different View.  "Colorado Assoc for Recycling’s new director, Laurie Johnson, is anxious to develop new ideas that go beyond its traditional historical scope. In thinking about people she might meet who have a different view of how we can re-use what others consider junk, repurposedMATERIALS came up quite quickly.  So I’d like to introduce you to her in the hope you could find an hour sometime to meet with her and give her your views on how we might be doing a better job with the 'reuse' element in the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle mantra." -Graham Russell  REGrahamLaurie did come out yesterday for a tour to learn about "repurposing"!  Thanks for the introduction!

Conveyor Belt Trimmings.  4"-18" wide.  L: Denver, Dallas  Click for Sizes and Prices>>

repurposedPROJECT:  "Your conveyor belt trimmings work great for hanging the targets at our shooting range.  Unlike a chain that breaks if hit by a bullet, the bullet will simply leave a hole in the belting.  So, the target hang

interestPARTY:  "We normally use this UHMW material on our indoor race track as a barrier. Rolls of Rubber.  BEFORE:  These rolls of rubber were involved in a truck accident on the way to a factory where they were going to be die cut into diaphragms for truck air brakes.  The customer rejected the whole load.  Really!?!  How bad can you hurt rolls of rubber?  Anyway, these brand new rolls of 1/8" x 56" x 100-200' are available for sale.  (NOTE: The blue material is protective packaging layer between the black rubber.)  L: Denver Click here for pricing>>>

WANTED: Hard-to-Recover Metals.  Do you have waste material that has a % of non-ferrous metal content that is hard to recover?  If yes, we might be able to help!  Lots of these metals have very little, if any, scrap value because the metal is too costly to recover because of adjoining materials..eg: plastics, glass, coatings, adhesives, rubber, laminated films, etc.  Call Damon at 303.321.1471 or Email Us for Details>>

EXAMPLE:  So, want an example of a hard-to-recover metal?  Take, for example, peel off packaging lids like on yogurt cups.  They lid is a mix of aluminum and plastic laminated together.  The presences of the plastic greatly diminishes the value of the aluminum.  SOURCE/REASON: Often the marketing department will change the printing on the labels and brand new coils of this packaging material are instantly obsolete.  Q: Know any food manufacturers where this is the case?  Email Us>>

repurposedHISTORY.  In Italy after World War II many enterprising olive farmers "repurposed" old parachutes left behind by Allied soldiers.  The old parachutes, with their hole in the middle, worked ideally to use as a skirt under the trees (think Christmas tree skirt) to collect all the olives as they were picked.  While the WWII parachutes have long ago vanished, the parachutes were such a hit that still today they refer to the skirts as "parachutes".

Q: Like this WWII-era "repurpose", do you know of other historical "repurposes"?  Email Details>>
