repurposedREAL/ESTATE.  "Damon, I have a great real estate 'repurposing' project for you.  Our state park beaches in Ohio used to be extremely popular, filling 2,000 car lots to overflowing!  But with more swimming pools and water parks, we don’t get nearly the visitors now.  We closed about half of the parking lot, and later 'repurposed' a large portion of that asphalt surface as an air strip for model aircraft.  The project is very popular!" - Gus w/ Ohio Dept of Nat Resources

Cinnamon Fragrance.  BEFORE: "We are a fragrance company and we have a dozen drums of Methyl Cinnamate (aka: Cinnamon).  This material has polymerized (it's now lumpy) and cannot be used in regular fragrance production.  It continues to have a very strong cinnamon odor." - Howell STATUSHowell accepted our offer, and we now have the cinnamon fragrance for sale.  L:  Philadelphia  Email for Details>>

Q:  Like Howell, do you have obsolete, off-spec, out-of-date ingredients that could be "repurposed"?  If yes, Email Details>>

Your Ideas:  "Cinnamon is a very effective natural deterrent for ants.  Perhaps it could be repuposed to repel ants." - Carol

BEFORE: "I have 41 spools of new, unused 3/8" guy wire.  We build huge concrete water tanks.  We add this wire inside the concrete forms to add strength.  We never splice the wire.  So, when there isn't enough wire left on the spool to do a complete loop, we scrap the remaining guy wire.  Seems wasteful I know, but that is the way we do it.  With this particular tank the remnants happen to be about 500' per spool." - Aaron  RE: Aaron, thanks for contacting us.  Certainly you could have sent this to the scrap metal company, but re-use/"repurposing" is definitely a higher and better use of this wire.

repurposedPROJECT:  "Volunteers who are Friends of Lee State Park in South Carolina.  (Public park using volunteers and staff)  I got a grant last year for trail improvement, and we installed some geotextile. Your Parking Lot Fabric is much cheaper.  The gravel is chunky and very difficult to walk on.  Unshod horses hate it.  (Think about walking barefoot on sharp rocks...) Another benefit is trail stabilization.  We plan to use more of it in boggy places." Marsha Hewitt RE: Marsha, awesome "repurpose" project.  Thx for sending all the project photos!

How Can It be "repurposed"?  "Damon, Got the next weird one for you (which you seem to specialize in). We are removing beds from two articulated truck beds.  They are located in Fort Worth,TX, and you were the first one I thought of when we started to take them off.  The reason we have two beds is that we are 'repurposing' these over to water trucks.  These beds weigh approx. 13,000 lbs and are approx. 19’ long 11’4” wide and vary on height from ~ 8’ to 4’ - 5’. The beds have a storage capacity of about 24 cubic yards or 31.4 cubic yards heaped and for 44 tons carrying capacity." - Bryce in Dallas

Your Ideas
:  "Great for ranches to use as a storage pit for stall shavings. It would stand up to tractors in and out, scraping from the tractor bucket and wouldn't allow the shavings to absorb moisture from the ground." - Kristin Campbell

"Drag line buckets." - Kris

"Counter sink them into the ground for impromptu skate board riding??" - Jody

"I see a swim ap training pool. Run pumps on one side to create flow and filtration on the other side, enclosed with side walls to hide it." - Matthew Renaud

Love Mail.  "Love what you guys are doing.  Totally makes sense.  I can't TELL you how many times I've watch perfectly good equipment either go to the dump or some scrapper that's only looking for metal... regardless of its potential as 'repurposed'." -Sabin Martin in Indiana
