ourSTORY:  BEFORE:  A Dept of Transportation contractor contacted us about 3/4" galvanized highway median cable that they were tearing out on a section of highway that was getting worked on.   AFTER:   Some of the cable was purchased by an outfit using it to anchor logs that they use as "breakwaters".  "Breakwaters" are designed to break the waves in marinas and harbors.

The beauty of "repurposing":  The DOT contractor chose the "repurposing" which is more environmentally friendly than metal recycling.  The marina operator, knew the galvanized cable was actually ideal as a rust inhibitor in this underwater application!!!  It's a win/win...the DOT contractor did right by the environment by choosing "repurposing", and the buyer saved big $$$ by buying used cable instead of new!

tipLINE: Damon, I am an employee of XOXOX (I’m leaving our name out intentionally) and thought I would give you a heads up for a potentially huge ‘repurposing’ opportunity.  Our company is in the process of changing how stores receive their weekly shipments. Most of the 8,000+ stores utilize a heavy duty metal roller conveyor system. All of these will eventually be removed. If this is something you might want to pursue feel free to contact me for additional information.” – David L.
tipLINE:  I have a client who has recently purchased a 96,000 SF office building; their intent is to demo the “tenant” spaces (not the building core or restrooms) and rebuild new interior layouts.  They have asked if I could locate a source interested in reusing any existing building materials which will not be needed in their new space.  Are you interested in learning more about this opportunity in the Kansas City area?” – Jan D, architect

Warehouse Fire.  repurposedCALL:  "We had a fire at our grease manufacturing facility.  We had several batches of grease finished but not yet in finished packaging.  We don't think there is anything wrong with it, but we don't want to chance it with our customers.  We just put it all in 55 gal drums.  The two types we have are Lithium Grease OO and Calcium Sulfonate Complex ISO 460.  Are you interested?" - Carter  Q: We need your help!  What applications could use either of these two types of greases in 55 gal drum quantities and without any warranties or certifications?  (It will probably be some industrial application with wide tolerances in their grease specifications.)  Oh, and if you have interest in about 70 drums of either, email us, too!  Email Us Details>>
