IBC Totes are large, tanks which are used to store and transport fluids and other bulk materials. Both the size and rigid structure of these caged tanks make them ideal for “repurposing”.
Q: What are the dimensions of these 275 gal totes?
A: The tanks are 40” W x 48” L x 48” Tall.
Q: How much does an empty IBC tote weigh?
A: 100 pounds.
Q: What size openings do these plastic tanks have?
A: The tanks have an 8” top hole and a 2” ball value on the bottom.
Q: What was in the plastic containers previously?
A: These totes are you used to ship a wide variety of products. We sell them as either “food grade” or “non-food grade”. Food grade means they previously contained a food product. NOTE: We do not know for sure what each tote previously contained. We just relay to purchasers what the previous owner said was shipped in the containers.
Q: What is the cage made out of?
A: The cage on a IBC tote is made of galvanized steel.
Q: Are these totes cleaned out?
A: No. We do not rinse out our totes prior to re-selling. We suggest a few quarters at the local car wash for rinsing out prior contents.
NOTE: While we call these repurposed gallon totes, others may call them reclaimed gallon totes. Funny, we’ve also heard them being called recycled gallon totes. Then there are those who refer to them as scrap gallon totes, seconded gallon totes, junk gallon totes …or maybe even salvaged gallon totes! Remember, whatever “green” or sustainable phrase you want to use regarding gallon totes, we’ve got it.
