Wire Panels.  L: Chi, Den  Click Here for Sizes and Prices>>

BEFORE: These are brand new, unused steel panels from a manufacturer who lost a contract supplying these safety panels that go on the outside of air conditioning units.  AFTER:  Natures Wood Products just bought a whole bunch of these panels to build big cages they use to hold their recycling materials...eg: foam, paper, plastic, etc...generated by their operation.

WINNER:  EnvirOnMentaDoubLe PlaY.  1) building a cage to hold recyclable materials, and 2) utilizing obsolete fence panels to do so!  (This award, or more a "shout out", is for an entity utilizing a used product or material as part of a solution that positively effects the environment.)

reality/showREPURPOSE.  CBS' The Amazing Race features a "repurpose" in the Africa.  In Namibia, instead of using expensive road graders to grade their roads, the locals just hook together old tires and drag behind their trucks to smooth out the roads.

"Damon, Watching Amazing Race and saw this tire 'repurpose' and thought of you guys.  Start watching at 1:00:49 of the episode.  Watch Now>> "Gary Parshley in Massachusetts
Independent "repurposing".  "I always love your newsletter.  Thanks for what you’re doing.  I thought you might enjoy our 'repurposing'.  We are a boat trailer manufacturer.  These 12" X 32" pieces of ½" plywood are leftovers for us.  Given the decline in honeybees, we have begun donating these to a local beekeepers’ club to build hives.  The lot below will yield approximately 100 new hives…..beats a trip to the landfill!" - Kevin Campbell  RE: Kevin, Bravo to your efforts on keeping stuff out of the landfill!
