repurposedSMARTS"We restore vintage Ferraris.  We always sit a 5lb box of desiccant in our old cars to keep the moisture out while they await restoration.  Send me a sample.  Your kitty litter silica gel might work just the same!" - Jason

Borosilicate Glass Frit.  "Hi Damon, We manufacture specialty glasses for technical applications in the health care, adhesives, aerospace, and govt applications. We currently have a large quantity of 33 expansion borosilicate glass frit (Type 1A) that is 38 micron and below in size.  It is too small for our process.  We currently have about 500,000 lbs of this material on hand.  Is this something that you could use as a filler material? Please advise." Krista

repurposedSUGGESTION:  "This glass frit could be used as a filler in some types of adhesives!" - KG

AVAILABILITY:  We have this Glass Frit available to drop ship.  L: Midwest

Disguise Dilemma.  We have an interesting possibility(s) where we think we can "repurpose" one waste liquid product into a completely different industry for an entirely different application.  So, we'd want to change the recipe enough to get around original patents, etc.  And, of course, we'd want to make some changes in the product, too, to disguise it so buyers wouldn't be able to trace back the product to the original industry.  We suppose you'd also have to create a new MSDS sheet, etc.

Q: We would like to talk to someone (eg: chemist, IP lawyer, etc) that has knowledge of what the requirements are to minimally change a product so it can be re-branded.  Are you that person or can you refer us to such a person?

Powder Coating.  We got in about 25,000 lbs over leftover powder coating that was overspray, etc. from a big operation.  Colors are black and grays.  L: Chi  Contact Us for Details>>

repurposedSUGGESTION:  "An option may be to sell it to a job shop at a very cheap price with no warranty attached. It is possible that it could be used for functional purposes only, e.g., corrosion protection, primer coat, underhood applications, or frame protection . . . applications that are not seen by the end user." - Trena  RETrena, great suggestions.  Yes, we're willing to sell this cheap!

Chemistry WANTED...Surfactants.   "I am in the hydroseeding business.  We spend a lot of money on buying specialty surfactacts to add to our tanks to help improve the seeds we spray on the ground.  I'm hoping to find an industry that has off-spec surfactant product that could be substituted for our high cost specialty product we buy." - Rick  RE: We applaud your Substitutionary Thinking!

Q: Do you have any suggestions for Rick on where he might get some surfactant product that he can "repurpose" into his hydroseeding operation?

repurposedINQUIRY.  "I am the Lifecycle Materials Manager at a Department of Energy facility.  We are currently changing the way we manage chemicals both here and at our other remote sites.  We currently have a program that results in a significant amount of useful materials being sent for disposal.  I read the article on your company in the Chemical and Engineering News and was very interested in the possibility of working with your company." - Lyman  Read Magazine Article>>

Q:  Like Lyman, do you have chemistry, ingredients, products, etc that you're not managing very well and that lead to high disposal costs?  If yes, Contact Us>>
