Interesting Note.  The "repurposing" community is very diverse!  Take a look at divergent interests of the "repurposers" in our first three stories...a Missionary, a Deer Hunter, and Burning Man attendees.  What is the commonality between them?  Of course, the desire to utilize used materials to save money and keep stuff out of the landfill!
3/4" Galvanized Highway Median Cable.  We just got in 35,000'+ of highway cable.  L: Philadelphia  Email Us for Pricing>>

repurposedPROJECT:  "I volunteer with a missionary who installs suspension footbridges in 3rd world countries to provide safe river crossings and for community building.  I thought this material might be suitable.   Below is a pic of the last build I went on in Honduras.  (160 feet long using about 2,000 feet of cable).  The bridge will save over 5 hours of walking when the river is too dangerous to cross." Steve inFlorida
Back-to-School "repurpose"...LOL!  "Damon, you got get this one in your newsletter.  Wisconsin guy 'repurposing' school bus as deer hunting stand.  Read Article>>" - Tim in Wyoming

Burning Man festival!  The Burning Man festival kicks off this week in Nevada.  We can always tell when it is approaching because we get lots of orders from people heading that direction.  Thanks to everyone who purchased used materials for Burning Man!

Surplus Inventory...Lithium Battery Cells.  "I’m reaching out to you because I have 119,000 Type: LiFePO4 Size: 32650 re-chargeable batteries that we bought for a project, they are unused, and now we have no use for them.  They were delivered to us late 2013, and they cost us a little under $1,000,000 at that time.  Would you possibly have an interest in them at a highly discounted rate?" -Richard  NOTE: We DO NOT own these batteries currently.  We are considering buying this offering, or we could broker a deal if you're interested.

Q #1:  We know nothing about batteries.  So, any ideas what industry(s) or applications would have a need for a very large quantity (say, 25,000+ batteries) like these?
  Email Ideas>>

Q #2:  Like Richard, do you have obsolete inventory, materials, equipment that you'd like to get off-the-books and out-of-the-warehouse?  If yes, Email Details>>

demolitionINTRODUCTION.  "They are going to demo a building and from what I’ve seen so far is the bids are high.  So, if you have any buddies in the demo business, we could gain a lot there." - Jim  RE: Jim, we do have a demolition architecture expert I could introduce you to.  I know he has saved a number of clients on their demolition costs.

Q:  Do you have an upcoming demolition project where you'd like to save some $$$ or increase your landfill diversion %?  If yes, we can introduce you, too.  Email Demo Details>>

Conveyor Belting.  Widths from 4" - 60"  L: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Philadelphia  Email Us for Our Current Inventory>>

repurposedAPPRECIATION:  "We are using old Conveyor Belting for several applications.  Wyoming Dept of Transportation uses belting on front of our plows and side wings  to keep snow from coming over the plow  while plowing snow.  This helps with drivers visibility issues.    We also use it around our spreader chutes to keep our sanding material from blowing up on traffic.  It seems to keep the material from blowing off while spreading material." Steve B.  RE:  The citizens of Wyoming should be appreciative!  Not only did WyDOT help keep a waste stream out of the landfill, they also saved taxpayer dollars by purchasing used instead of new!  That is a win/win if there ever was one! Steve, we appreciate your business!
Steel Square Tubing.  1/4" x 8" x 8".  This is unused, surplus inventory.  L: Denver  Email for Pricing>>

backSTORY:  "Can you 'repurpose' this steel tubing that came into our scrap metal recycling facility?  It would be a shame to simply cut up this perfectly good steel and just melt it." - Stephen  RE:  Stephen, we appreciate your progressive view on this steel.  "repurposing" is definitely a higher and better use for these then simply melting them.

Poly Pipe.  We just got in a bunch of 8" and 14" pipe.  L: Denver   Email for Details & Pricing>>

* A.C.E.  This acronym stands for AttributesCharacteristicsEngineering.  We use this acronym to tell you a little about a used material and what qualities it has in hopes that someone can find a "repurpose" for it.  Asked another way...what did the material do in it's 1st life that might help identify a very different, 2nd life for it?
