How Can These Be "repurposed"?  "Damon, Would your company be interested in some granite and marble cemetery monuments and tombstones that were blown over and cracked in a major storm.  There is approximately 114 that range from 10” to 24” tombstones, and they are in the Southeast part of the US.  They do have names, dates etched on them of course.  We're paying out the claim of $114,000.00 to have them replaced." - Carrie w/ major commercial insurance company

Your Ideas:  "I've seen these kinds of granite blocks used in state and national parks as monument markers and info boards. If they can be reground and re-etched....?" - Reid Kruger

"Students in college sculpture classes." - Raymond

"Grave stones can be Re cut.  My dad used to set them for a local company. If a name was spelled wrong they would shave a thin layer off re polish the stone then Re sand blast the names. They could be cut in to smaller stones tiles or other items. Much better then crushing for landscape use." - Dana Wilson

"Pavers at Disneyland's Haunted Mansion" - Sandra Jackson

"Create benches for outdoor parks." - Anna Voineskos

"I and my colleagues teach courses in historic preservation at Columbia University.  We're always short on materials that our students can use for hands on learning experiences.  if we could see a sampling of the materials in person, we might also know of restoration contractors or others who might be willing to pay up." - John

repurposedSUCCESS.  Almost 3 years ago we took in 100,000 sq ft of EPDM Roofing Rubber from Chicago's O'Hare Airport when they were re-roofing Terminal 5.  Yesterday we sold our last two pallets!!!  While it took almost 36 months, we're proud to say we kept all 40,000 lbs out of the landfill.  (OK, maybe this isn't quite aMichael Jordan victory for Chicagoans, but it is still worth celebrating, eh!)  When we commit to an organization that we will keep their materials out of the landfill, we stay true to our word.

Q:  Like we did for the City of Chicago, do you have byproducts or waste you'd like our help in keeping out of the landfill?  If yes, Email Details>>
