Reclaimed Wood Farmhouse Tables

Building a custom reclaimed wood table is an easy, but impactful way to bring farmhouse charm to any kitchen or living room space. Take a picture of a table you like and design a plan around it, or you can even download free design plans from many online sources.

Cubed Tiered Timber Shelving

It doesn’t get much easier or more beautiful than this project. Source a length of reclaimed wood timber and cut it into cubes. Ideally, you’ll use a timber that’s 6”x 6”, 8” x 8” or larger. Once you’ve cut your timber into multiple cubes, mount them to a wall in a grid pattern. Make sure to leave enough space between each cube to set pottery, vases, wood carvings and other decorative items on top. You can stain the wood cubes before hanging them or leave them raw for a more rustic look. Either way, the result will be stunning.

Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table Tray

With a few pieces of barnwood or pallet boards you can create an attractive but useful reclaimed wood coffee table tray. Set it on coffee tables, sofas and ottomans to keep books, coasters, remote controls and other items organized. Use ropes as handles or source some old drawer hardware to do the job.

State Pride Wall Decor

If you have access to a jigsaw, you can create a pattern in the shape of your favorite state. Trace your pattern onto a reclaimed board and then cut the board with the jigsaw to turn it into a decorative wall hanging item.

Herringbone Wall Accent

Sometimes art is placed in wood frames. But in this case, the wood itself is the art. If you’re good with angles, try transforming a collection of reclaimed pallet boards or barnwood into an impressive hangable herringbone wall accent. When the different shades of weathered boards are placed into the herringbone pattern, it creates an impressive look that’s hard to ignore.

Reclaimed Wood Suspended Shelves

With a few reclaimed wood boards and some decorative rope or vintage chains, you can create a series of suspended hanging shelves that can really add some unique flair to a room. These are great for displaying plants, knick-knacks and other decorative items.

Hanging Wall Racks

Repurposing pallet wood is a great way to get more life out of the wood. Cut lengths of pallet wood into a range of different patterns. Then source vintage hooks and hardware or add wood pegs for hanging coats, hats, keys on walls.

Reclaimed Wood Clocks

Remove the hands and guts from a clock, then source a wider reclaimed wood board or join a few boards together until you have your preferred shape for a clock. You can go rectangular, square or cut it to be round. You can add numbers to your clock using a wood burning tool and some number templates. Drill a hole in the center of the board where the hands will go. Mount the clock motor and battery casing to the back of the board, then reinstall the hands. Now your reclaimed wood clock is complete and ready to hang up and show off.
